Why are buttock lift surgeries performed?
Buttock lift surgeries are performed to correct sagged, deformed, shallow and loose buttock tissues. While performing the surgery, tight tissues are also corrected. Hip prostheses are used along with various surgical suspension methods to achieve more round, tight buttocks that look younger and proportional to the body. Hip prosthesis is placed into the pouch through the skin folds located in the buttocks and the incision scars disappear during the follow-up period. The procedure and the size of prosthesis are decided after the examination.
Types of Buttock Aesthetics
There are three methods to achieve plumped up buttocks.
- Fat injection
- Filler injection
- Silicone prostheses
The primary preference is the fat injection. This way, the filling materials obtained from the patient’s own body are used, but the donor site of fat is also thinned (generally low back area and hips) during augmentation of the buttocks.
What is Brazilian Buttock Lift Surgery?
“Brazilian Buttock Lift” surgery is used to create prominent and plumped up buttocks that look younger and more proportional to the body. The procedure starts with liposuction in hips and lower body under general anesthesia. Next, the fat tissues are processed, purified and injected to required areas of the buttocks with a special cannula. The target is to achieve the special look, called hourglass especially by the women, for the low back and buttocks.
What to expect in postoperative recovery period?
The body weight should not be directly born on the buttocks for 4 weeks after the surgery. Special corsets are worn for 2-3 weeks to decrease the swelling. Most patients can return to their normal lives 2 weeks later.
The buttocks are vulnerable to formation of a non hygienic environment which may cause a risk regarding results of the surgery. The initial period after the surgery is critical to prevent this risk. Patients are recommended to be more careful about ensuring their personal hygiene. Patients are required to know what they can do, what they should not do and be able to analyze recovery process sufficiently.
