What is iLasik?
iLASIK is a combination of INTRA-LASE, the most innovative laser technology of our age, and advanced custom treatment (Advanced CustomVueTM). iLASIK is a completely personalized method. Every action is based on quality of your vision. The technology used in iLASIK method is completely safe. NASA and the U.S. Military have approved iLASIK treatments for astronauts and air force pilots. This approval verifies that iLASIK method provides best results even in individuals who are exposed to extreme natural conditions and require a strong and special visual proficiency due to their professions such as astronauts and pilots.
You are most likely a good candidate
iLASIK can be performed for every individual over the age of 18, with no change in visual acuity within the last year and appropriate overall health and eye structure.
Correct time for iLASIK
Now, you have iLASIK in your life. There are no reasons left to delay laser treatment. LASIK, which is the most common treatment to get rid of eye-glasses, has been performed approximately for 20 years. Approximately 50 million people around the world started a new life with this treatment until today. Now, waiting is unnecessary with iLASIK, the most advanced version of lasik treatment.

- Every stage of the completely customized iLASIK treatment is entirely based on your own visual structure.
Stages of iLASIK
With iLASIK, you are choosing a completely personalized treatment which is based on the advanced vision correction technology.
Step 1 – Creating your personal vision profile
First stage of iLASIK is identifying some characteristics specific for your eye with certain tests which also include use of Wavescan technology. Wavescan system forms a three dimensional map of your vision deficits. Next, a customized treatment is designed for your eyes using the digital data obtained from this map with Advanced CustomVueTM procedure.
Another feature of Advanced Custom VueTM is the use of Fourier analysis, which can create a three dimensional customized vision map in Wavefront aberometry.
Administering the shot to the planned point in the eye is critical in laser therapies. Therefore a digital locking system between the device and the eye is required.
While using the wavefront treatment, measurements are made while the patient is in sitting position and the treatment is performed while the patient is lying, a small turning movement of the eye may occur between these positions. Even the minor turning movements of the eye can be identified by the iris recognition system – equipped in the Wave-scan device – that assists the laser device recognize the iris layer of the patient. Contrary to known eye tracker systems, this technology is also able to tract movements of the eye around its own axis.
Step 2 – Elevation of iLASIK Flap
iLASIK flap is created with IntralaseTM technology. IntralaseTM method is a completely bladeless approach that is used for elevation of flap in the cornea. It allows the procedure of corneal flap formation is performed exactly as it is planned with highest precision. Diameter and thickness the corneal flap and its insertion on the cornea as well as its centralization and regularity are formed as completely as they are planned.
A higher quality vision can be achieved with Intralase lasik method following the laser therapy, where only disposable materials are used during the whole process.
The vision in the eye treated with intralase is found 3 times more satisfactory in a clinical study of patients, for whom flap is elevated with blade in one eye and with Intralase in the other.
Step 3 – Personalized Laser Treatment
Until this stage, your custom vision profile is created with Wavescan technology and the cornea flap is formed with Intralase without using blades; now, your vision can be corrected with Advanced CustomVue technique within the scope of iLASIK. Advanced CustomVue procedure is a FDA approved system which covers the wides range of applications for treatment of vision deficits (myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism). The clinical studies conducted 1 year after the treatment show that;
-
- More than 95% of all patients with myopia who participated in the study were able to pass their driving tests without eyeglasses or contact lenses.
- 98% of the patients with mild or severe myopia achieved 10/10 or better visual acuity without eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Night vision of participants with mild or severe myopia improved after the treatment.
