Prof. Dr. İ. Teoman Benli

Prof. Dr. İ. Teoman Benli was born in 1963 in Isparta and started his medical education in Ankara. After graduating from Ankara Fen Lisesi in 1980, he studied at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and obtained the title of medical doctor in 1986. After completing his compulsory service at Bartın SSK Hospital, he began his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at SSK Ankara Dışkapı Training and Research Hospital. He completed his specialization in 1992.

İ. Teoman Benli became an Associate Professor at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1995. Throughout his career, he received training in spinal surgery and arthroplasty in various countries such as the USA, Korea, France, Argentina, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and the USA.

He served as the president of the Turkish Spine Society (TOD) and organized many national and international events. He has written a total of 29 English articles, 49 Turkish articles, and 50 Turkish book chapters. He has also served on the editorial boards of various journals and worked at several universities.

Since 2007, he has been serving on the editorial boards of “Clinical Orthopaedics,” “Spine,” “Acta Orthop Trauma Turc,” and “Eur Spin Surg.” Additionally, he chaired the TOTEK Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialty Proficiency Examination Commission from 2009 to 2011. Throughout his career, he has worked at different universities and served as the Head of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Okan University Faculty of Medicine from 2016 to 2018.

Prof. Dr. İ. Teoman Benli started working at Başkent University Istanbul Application and Research Hospital on May 1, 2019, but left on December 1, 2020. He has also worked in various private hospitals during his career. He is married and has one child.
