Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Orhan Boran was born in 1974 in Osmanbey, Istanbul. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 1997. In the same year, he started his specialization in the Department of Neurosurgery at Marmara University. He graduated as a Neurosurgery Specialist in 2002. After completing his specialization, he served as a Brain Surgery Specialist at Gülhane Military Medical Academy Haydarpaşa Hospital for his military service. During this period, he also received microsurgery training at GATA Ankara Microsurgery Laboratories with an official assignment. He then completed his compulsory service at Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital.
He worked for seven years at Avicenna Ataşehir Hospital. During this time, he also served as a board member of the Nervous System Association. He then moved to 29 Mayıs Hospital of the Turkish Diyanet Foundation. Later, he returned to the state, first working at Maltepe State Hospital and then at the newly named Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital.
In 2020, he left the state again and started working as both a Brain Surgery Specialist and Deputy Chief Physician at Academic Hospital.
After receiving the title of Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in 2021, he left his administrative position and focused more on academic work. He is currently still a Faculty Member at Galata University Faculty of Health Sciences and a member of the Advisory Board of Beykent University Faculty of Medicine.
Although he provides services in all areas of neurosurgery professionally, the areas he enjoys working in are spinal surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, peripheral nerve surgery, and tumor surgery.
Since October 2022, he has been accepting patients at Hisar Hospital Intercontinental.
