Dr. Toluy ÖZGÜMÜŞ, Specialist

Specialist Doctor Toluy Özgümüş, graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty in 2008, and completed his internal medicine residency training at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital between 2009-2013. He received his hematology subspecialty training at Marmara University Hematology Department from 2014-2017; he served his mandatory service between 2017-2019 at Kars Harakani State Hospital. He worked at Sancaktepe Şehit Prof. Dr. İlhan Varak Training and Research Hospital between 2019-2023.
He is experienced in bleeding and coagulation disorders, primarily focusing on coagulation disorders (thrombophilia), having been involved in the diagnosis and treatment of over 1000 patients. He has extensive experience in managing hematological findings of Covid-19 infection and the management of Covid-19 infection in hematological diseases, as he worked at the pandemic hospital on the Asian side of Istanbul during the pandemic. He has hundreds of patients’ experiences in the diagnosis and treatment of myeloproliferative diseases such as Polycythemia Vera and Essential Thrombocythemia, distinguishing them from other causes of elevated blood cell counts. He is experienced in the diagnosis and all treatment processes of rare hematological cancers such as multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas, and histiocytoses, as well as in bone marrow transplantation.
