Prof. Dr. İdris Altun completed his residency in the Department of Neurosurgery at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Faculty of Medicine in 2012. He received training in the USA at Barrow, Arizona in 2009-2010. After his specialization, he served as a specialist doctor, assistant professor, associate professor, and professor at the same department from 2012 to 2023. During this time, he performed numerous surgical procedures related to various fields. He successfully carried out operations for lumbar and cervical hernias, lumbar and cervical stenosis surgeries, spinal trauma surgeries, cranial trauma surgeries, pediatric neurosurgical operations, and brain and spinal tumor surgeries. In 2017, he received training in endoscopic pituitary surgery at Kocaeli University and initiated pituitary surgery and skull base surgery in Kahramanmaraş. He has performed trigeminal neuralgia surgeries and blockages, interventional procedures for non-surgical lumbar and cervical pain, endoscopic brain surgeries, and a wide range of stereotactic brain biopsy procedures. Since 2023, he has continued to work as a faculty member at Istanbul Rumeli University.
