Born in 1977, Tarık Akar, M.D., was graduated from Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine, Istanbul University in 2000. After attending the residency education at the Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine, Ankara University from 2000 to 2004, he was awarded the title of “Internist” in 2004.

After passing the Internal Medicine Fellowship Exam in 2008, Dr. Tarık Akar started his fellowship at Gastroenterology Clinic of Ankara Numune Teaching and Research Hospital and was awarded the title of “Gastroenterologist” in 2011. He had his conscription at Zonguldak Atatürk State Hospital between 2011-2013 and started working at Gastroenterology Clinic, Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine, Bülent Ecevit University in 2013.

He attended “Advanced Endoscopic Procedures” course at School of Medicine, Korea University for 2 months from March 2018 to May 2018. He completed his training on the most advanced procedures in the field of Gastroenterology like POEM, ESD, STER, POETRA.
