Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burçin Batman completed his medical education at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine and his specialization training at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (Çapa). He then completed his compulsory service at Muş Bulanık State Hospital.

During this time, he received training in Robotic Surgery (IRCAD, Strasbourg, France) and Intraoperative Radiotherapy (IORT) Training (Royal Free Hospital Target Academy, International Training Course on Targeted Intraoperative Radiotherapy, London). He has primarily worked in the fields of Obesity and Metabolic Surgery (Sleeve Gastrectomy, Endoscopic Gastric Balloon Application, Metabolic Surgeries), participating in over 1000 cases in 6 years. In addition, he has worked in Colorectal Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, Laparoscopic Inguinal and Umbilical Hernias, and Anal Region Diseases (Laser Hemorrhoid Treatment, Doppler-assisted Hemorrhoidopexy), performing numerous successful surgeries.

Dr. Burçin Batman was one of the first faculty members of the Department of General Surgery at İstinye University Faculty of Medicine, established in 2016, where he taught theoretical and practical courses to medical students until 2020. During this time, he earned the title of “Associate Professor”.

In 2020, he left his position at İstinye University and continued his work in a private clinic specializing in Obesity Surgery. He is currently working specifically in this area.
