Cenk Acar

Prof. Dr. Cenk Acar teaches at the Department of Urology, Faculty of Medicine, Atlas University. He completed his medical education at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and his residency training in Urology at the Department of Urology, Gazi University Faculty of Medicine. Between June 2009 and November 2012, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Urology, Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine. From May 2012 to November 2012, he completed a six-month fellowship in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for urological cancers at the Department of Urology of the Netherlands Cancer Institute–AVL Hospital.

He started working at Acıbadem Ankara Hospital in November 2012. In September 2014, after fulfilling the required academic qualifications, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor. After working at a private hospital in Ankara between 2015 and 2020, he continued providing medical services at his private practice in Ankara until joining Hisar Hospital Intercontinental in 2020.

In 2015, he chaired the organising committee of Türkiye’s first course in the field of urology on “Fluorescence Imaging in Urological Surgery.” In the following years, he chaired numerous urological and multidisciplinary courses on ICG fluorescence imaging under the umbrella of various urology associations. In 2017, he became the first physician in Türkiye to perform Bipolar Prostate Enucleation for benign prostatic hyperplasia at the clinic where he was working. He subsequently applied his growing experience to procedures such as HOLEP and THUFLEP. In addition, as part of his extensive surgical experience in urology, he successfully performs Radical Prostatectomy procedures using the advanced robotic Da Vinci Surgical System, providing high precision through a minimally invasive approach.

Throughout his career, Dr. Acar has focused particularly on urological cancers, urinary tract stones, HOLEP, THUFLEP, endourology, and robotic and laparoscopic urological surgery, and has successfully performed numerous operations. To date, he has carried out more than 1,000 urological cancer surgeries, over 500 HOLEP and THUFLEP procedures, countless endoscopic stone surgeries, more than 250 robotic surgeries, and numerous laparoscopic procedures.
